using vaelmail without javascript, through tor or on i2p.
the native site handles real mail and account forms without scripts. check your sign-in method before changing how you connect.
vael has a no-javascript site for reading mail and using account features through ordinary pages and forms. it’s a working account interface, rather than a picture of the regular desktop.
you can open it at nojs.vaelmail.com. the same native interface is also available through our tor and i2p mirrors.
start with the official links.
open the system page for the current no-javascript, onion and i2p links. using the links published by vael helps you avoid a copied or mistyped address. you can bookmark the correct destination once you’ve checked it.
the onion address needs tor software, such as tor browser. the i2p destination needs an i2p connection configured for your browser. opening either through an unrelated public gateway changes who can see your traffic; it is not the same connection as using the network directly.
you don’t need a second vael account. the mirror reaches the same service, so changes to mail or account settings affect the same account.
check your second factor first.
your 16-digit account number is still required. keep any leading zeroes.
passkeys need a compatible browser on the regular website. they cannot be used or managed on the native no-javascript interface. if your account has only passkeys enabled, you cannot sign in there, even with recovery codes.
before relying on native access, open security on the regular website and keep an authenticator app enabled alongside any passkeys. finish its setup and save any recovery codes shown. a code replaces a second factor, not a lost account number.
our passkey note explains how the methods fit together. don’t disable a working sign-in method until you understand what you’ll use instead.
using pages instead of desktop windows.
sign in at the native site, then use its mail and account navigation. actions submit forms and load another page. some security changes ask you to enter your account number and a fresh factor again.
the regular website’s public information is also readable with javascript disabled, but use the native account site for a complete script-free account flow. turning off javascript on a page does not give browser passkeys a native fallback.
what a different connection changes.
the tor and i2p mirrors connect through their respective networks directly to vael rather than the cloudflare website proxy. the ordinary no-javascript https site still uses that website infrastructure.
none of these interfaces makes mail end-to-end encrypted. vael still handles the mailbox, external recipients still receive the messages you send, and an address or message can identify you independently of your connection.
for those limits, read what private email protects and the privacy policy. for access, begin with the official links and a sign-in method you know works there.
